Help Grow the Network
We believe that improving understanding of Hikikomori requires collaboration between families, individuals with lived experience, researchers, educators, professionals, policymakers, and communities. Whatever your background, there are many ways to contribute to the network.
Share Your Experience
Your story matters. Families with lived experience of Hikikomori can choose to submit their stories. These accounts help build understanding, reduce stigma, and show other families that they are not alone.
Professional Contributions
Health professionals, researchers, educators, and practitioners are invited to contribute articles, research summaries, or resources to our Resources section. We welcome a broad range of evidence-informed perspectives.
Volunteer With Us
As a growing network, we welcome expressions of interest from people who would like to volunteer or contribute in an advisory capacity. We are especially keen to hear from individuals with lived experience, as well as those with expertise in research, education, health and social care, policy, community development, the voluntary sector, or charity governance.
Suggest a Support Service
If you have accessed a local charity or support service that helped you, let us know so other families can find it. Suggestions feed our UK-wide directory of services on the Support pages.
Tell Us How You'd Like to Contribute
Choose the option that fits you best and tell us a little about yourself. All submissions are carefully moderated before any use. Nothing will be published, shared, or used in any way without your explicit consent.
We will never use your story in a way that identifies you or your family without your permission.
