Hikikomori Italia
Milan, ItalyHikikomori Italia ETS is a national Italian non-profit organisation focused on understanding and addressing voluntary social withdrawal (hikikomori). It supports young people and families, promotes research and awareness, and works with schools, professionals and international partners to foster social inclusion and wellbeing.
What We Do TogetherWe have a close relationship with Hikikomori Italia, as many of our members are Italian and some of our volunteers have an active role within that organisation. We meet with their volunteers, exchange ideas and expertise, and share new findings.
Escape
Strasbourg, FranceESCAPE is a community-led association of young people and families affected by hikikomori and social withdrawal operating in France. Working to raise awareness of lived experiences, to give a voice to those impacted, and to advocate for greater support and understanding for young people and their families.
What We Do TogetherWe have a close relationship with Escape, as some of our members are French and actively support that organisation. We meet with their volunteers, exchange ideas and expertise, and share new findings.

Children, Young People and Families Network at the University of Warwick (CYF)
Coventry, UKThe Children, Young People and Families (CYF) Network at the University of Warwick is an interdisciplinary community dedicated to improving the lives of children, young people and families through research, education, collaboration and public engagement. The Network brings together academics, practitioners and community partners to support evidence-informed practice, amplify young people’s voices and create positive social impact.
What We Do TogetherWe have a close relationship with the CYF, as some of our members are an active part of the network. We keep them updated about our projects and progress, and they help us gain visibility by providing a platform to reach communities interested in supporting children and young people. We meet with their volunteers, exchange ideas and expertise, and share new findings regarding school disengagement, mental health, neurodiversity and social withdrawal.

University of Glasgow
Glasgow, Scotland, UKOur network is in contact with researchers at the University of Glasgow who are researching what hikikomori and social withdrawal are.
What We Do TogetherWe keep up to date with their publications and attend the conferences the University organises on the subject, feeding their findings back to our network.
